We’ve been doing this for so long – since the days of dial-up Internet (if you lived it, you can now hear that screeching sound in your head…sorry!) Yes, the Internet and email marketing was a wild new frontier when eTouchServices was founded in 2003. There were a handful of email programs to test for, large-screen computers with only a few browsers and for those who had cellphones, data was expensive (especially in Canada). Email design, imagery, length and attachments (yes, there was a time when attachments were expected AND read, if you can imagine!) catered to the technology platforms of the time. 

Fast-forward and now ALL the variables of email marketing have changed especially with cellphones. But the approach of meeting consumers where they are remains a steadfast priority. Cellphones have long since become “the phone” and are in everyone’s hand which vastly opens up campaign timing. This great opportunity also means messages absolutely must be coded for phones, while not leaving laptops behind. And don’t forget about tablets! Our pre-deployment testing runs emails through ~100 combinations of screen sizes (cellphones, tablets and desk/laptops) and how each displays with a variety of email programs (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail just to name a few).
